This is quite interesting. I have to check if I have some stuff that is triggering the USB-C PD then.
I have tried win11 and also arch on framework 13. I believe the issue is from windows. My battery drain in standby/ hiberation on win11 but not on arch
In reading the latest email from Framework, they announced an upcoming USB-A expansion card that “detects when no devices are plugged in, letting the system reduce power consumption and improve battery life while giving you access to devices like keyboards, mice, thumb drives, and more using USB-A connections at up to USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds”.

I just wanted to test again after the latest Linux kernel updates 7.0.
Shut down the laptop around 19:00 on Sunday.
Today Around 09:30 I tried to power it on and it is dead.
4-Days in power-off (S5) state and the battery is drained. No stuff plugged in the ports.
I’m going to see if by removing the expansion cards this changes.
If someone have not this issue let me know that I try to contact the Framework support.
Unfortunately this issue is bringing me to use less the device in favor of others.
That is only until you buy a new super nice, bright, 120 Hz touchscreen and swap it in in like 5 minutes.
I don’t think this is normal. For me, it definitely does not reset after updating. And, occasionally, my battery dies after a long sleep, and bios settings do not reset either (although, I am not sure whether the battery dies completely or it keeps some reserve in this case).
If on Windows, have you disables “fast startup”? This “feature” has much more downside as benefits to me. Disabling is often a way to solve a bunch of possible problems.
The handful seconds it can bring on powerup are not really a progression. Especially in times with fast nvme.

I had the first gen (intel 11th gen processor) FW13 that I upgraded to the AMD version, and while the performance has improved markedly, as a laptop it regressed. This is mainly due to the lack of S3 idle. The laptop doesn’t last more than a day when suspended. Hibernate isn’t helping much either as sometimes the laptop hibernates, sometimes it chooses not to. So quite often I’d find the laptop completely dead. This makes it for a very frustrating laptop experience, you want to use it, and you can’t unless you charge it first, then wait a minute to boot, etc. As you noted mine also drains battery when completely off (although not at the same rate as yours).
Hoping FW13 Pro will fix this, although I doubt it will fully, given that S3 isn’t making a come back.
Overall, still a big believer in Framework’s mission and I’ll continue supporting them.
