LG recently announced a new laptop display panel that can change its refresh rate between 120 Hz and 1 Hz. Tests on a Dell laptop with the new display show a huge gain in battery life. It would be really great if Framework could offer such a display as an upgrade to a Laptop 13. I don’t know if LG has announced a 13” version of the display yet, the Dell uses a 14” version.

Would you have a link to the tests?

Hope that this becomes another option if it costs more.

Seconded, the claim of “huge gain” in battery life seems exaggerated.
Liquid crystal consumes very little electricity, the majority of the power draw is from the backlight.
A lower framerate reduces GPU load however the GPU load is already very low unless you are playing a video game so further reducing it is a diminishing return. I don’t think most users can tolerate up to 1 second to wait for a folder to open
