Sorry in advanced for any stupid questions as I’m very new to Linux.
So as the title suggests, I found out that the driver for the iGPU was disabled. I’ve tried updating everything but no changes yet.

Here are the results from inxi -Gxx

Which bit of the inxi output are you looking at to see that your iGPU is disabled? Apologies, I am not seeing it.

Hi,
It’s on the first line:

Device-1: Intel Panther Lake [Intel Graphics] vendor: Framework driver: N/A

Specifically “Framework driver: N/A”
From the Fedora forums, they said it might have something to do with the BIOS or the Kernel. Even in System info, GPU activity is at 0%

Ah, gotcha. I think the next thing I’d do is to put something like Ubuntu on a memory stick and boot it from there (you probably don’t need to install it properly to do some basic iGPU testing). It’d be interesting to see if a different distro brings that line to life.

Also, have a rummage around in dmesg to see if there are any relevant grumbles in there - maybe it will give more clues.

Thanks for the advice.
I tried dmesg before but wasn’t sure what to look for with the amount of text. I’ve read that you can filter the search but would I need to look at just graphics info? Or errors in general?

I’ll try ubuntu as you suggested to see if it’s the distro. Thanks again for the advice

Yes, or the kernel. Sometimes swapping to another distro gets all the ducks in a row, and it is way easier than hours of fiddling with a distro that is less well-tested.

The issue is resolved. Someone on the Fedora forums suggested this:

“Because inxi shows simple-framebuffer and llvmpipe with no driver bound to the b090 device, it’s likely the kernel is booting with nomodeset. Run cat /proc/cmdline and check for nomodeset, since installing in basic graphics mode can leave it on the installed system. If it’s there, remove it with sudo grubby --update-kernel=ALL --remove-args=nomodeset and reboot.”
