I download the .stl for a single piece for the track pad for the Framework 16 inch laptop, and had it printed by JLCPCB in grey Resin, and found that it’s just a tad too large. Was wondering if this is because there’s an issue with the .stl itself, or did I get it printed in the wrong material? Here’s some pictures of the issue, and the last one is compared with the original and spacers, and it can be hard to see but on the right side, you can see the 3d printed piece is a hair longer.
The printer was not tuned correctly. If the printer is not set up correctly, it can print things in slightly incorrect dimensions. I’m sure it’s the same with resin printers.
I had a friend with a bambu printer (with large enough bed) print two for me and they both fit perfectly.
I used sandpaper to remove 0.5mm from the sides.
I’m gonna do the sandpaper route to get the 3d print to fit. Though I would still buy a proper one if Framework ever start selling it.
