Framework Laptop 16 AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with AMD Radeon RX 7700S

Problem:

I had the original Framework 16 with the Ryzen 9 mainboard and unfortunately it spontaneously died on my one day. I ordered a replacement mainboard and updated to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and have been having nothing but problems since then. I had data on it that I wanted to back up so I didn’t reinstall my OS on it right away and was getting weird system hangs until I would hard reset the machine. I figured this was driver weirdness and eventually did the right thing and reinstalled a fresh copy of Bazzite on it completely wiping the drive it was installed on. Even after this, I’m still getting system hangs, and now I’m even getting GPU artifacts doing mundane things like browsing the desktop. They don’t seem to pop up while I’m in game, but otherwise every so often I’ll get rainbow static along the bottom of my display. I’m assuming this is still a driver issue with the mainboard or something since it’s using the iGPU at that point, but I have no idea what else to do. I’ve run firmware updates through Bazzite, everything is up to date, Bazzite it up to date itself, and I’m still having nothing but problems

Best guess is what you have already said. Was likely driver issues as you went from 7X40 series to 300 series (zen4 to zen5) with a hardware swap and bazzite was still trying to run former board drivers. Having the fresh install sounds like it solved your problem for the most part, aside from the artifacting. I don’t have a solution to that myself. I ran bazzite previously and didn’t have that issue personally on my 300 series, but I have since switched to cachy and do on occasion get green artifacts myself (though not so constant or drastic that it bothers me)
