I have issues with amdgpu errors with the linux-firmware package 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.29.
It started after the linux-firmware update to 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.29 was distributed in about 08-11.
I had various instability issues with gnome-shell crashing etc. After 2 days, I decided to roll back the firmware upgrade to the previous …2.26 version. Had not had any issues since then. Yesterday, I rolled forward again to …2.29. And again now issues re-appear: gnome-shell freezing (other stuff continues), getting restarted, etc.
There is at least one known issue with amd gpus and this firmware version (see Bug #2163303 “[regression] linux-firmware 20240318.git3b128b60-0...” : Bugs : linux-firmware-amd-graphics package : Ubuntu), but it doesn’t address this igpu version.
Has anyone noticed similar issues / have analyzed further? My setup:
Ryzen AI 300 with only iGPU
Kernel 7.0.0.30
Ubuntu 24.04
