There are a number of companies that could join in the larger effort toward repairable laptops that could pick up the slack in areas that Framework doesn’t have resources for or isn’t focusing on. For instance there are repair shops that could specialize in repairing broken parts and saving them from being recycled. In addition: What if Framework were to align with for instance, Raspberry pi Foundation to work on a dual CM4-based laptop? Or with Waveshare and/or Pine64 to make a 15.6" version of the laptop that uses all the same parts except for the screen? Or with Onyx to bring about their long-delayed e-Ink based laptop? Or with Panasonic to provide a ruggedized laptop enclosure: this might help the military save money and reduce repair times.
