Hi everyone,
I’ve been using a Framework 13 with AMD AI 300 for about a week now.
Overall, I’m quite happy with it, but I have a strange problem with audio playback after waking up from hibernation.
A quick breakdown of the situation: Among other things, I use the laptop to listen to audio books when I fall asleep. After a certain time, the laptop is automatically put into hibernation mode by the media player (AIMP in my case). The next morning, the laptop is supposed to start up again at a set time and play a playlist automatically, like an alarm clock. This is a fixed ritual and has always worked with three previous generations of laptops from different manufacturers and price ranges.
The part leading up to waking up is also no problem with the Framework 13. The laptop wakes up on its own (I use the WakeUpOnStandby app for this) and also runs the playlist. The music is played - but you don’t hear anything. You only hear something when you tap the touchpad or press a button on the keyboard. A simple tap is enough and you immediately hear the audio, which has been playing silently until then. Now, of course, it’s stupid if I want to use the playlist as an alarm clock when the audio doesn’t play until I tap the touchpad or keyboard.
My system: Framework 13 with AMD AI 5 340, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Home with all current updates and drivers.
I have already tried or noticed the following:
- The laptop does not wake up from standby, but does from hibernation. Weird, but okay.
- Whether the laptop lid is closed or open makes no difference.
- The problem also occurs with other media players (I use MPC-BE by default).
- No energy-saving measures are active for the audio devices.
- It makes no difference whether the laptop is running on battery or AC power.
- Of course, I also did some research, but I couldn’t find my exact problem.
- I also asked two AI engines, but as expected, their results were garbage.
Does anyone else here have any ideas?
I’m sure there is a simple solution and I don’t want to accept anything else on a new and not exactly cheap device.
Thanks and cheers
