Damn. 26 Feb? I ordered three weeks after you. I hope I don’t have to wait another three weeks until I go stage 5. They said 2-3 business days 11 days ago.

From what I’ve read, it’s not really “when you ordered” that governs when you receive the unit - not beyond that you end up in a given “batch”. However, within that batch, there appears to be sort of “sub-batches” depending on things like where you are (in Batch 9 it looks like NL/Austria/Ireland started processing after UK/Germany/France, for xample) and what you ordered (makes sense that it is easier for them to process similar systems as a group on assembly and fulfillment).

That said, 2-3 days 11 days ago does seem a bit odd.

Does anyone know how much time there usually is between the “stage 2 announcement” and having the FW laptop delivered?
I’m just curious… and impatient!

The batch system works on the number of each different processor Framework has allocated, but when it comes to fulfilment the orders are batched differently according to the specifics of the order - for example, orders without a power supply get batched because they need different packaging. I think that there’s also a split between up to six expansion cards and more than six, because the standard box only has room for six.

The orders get batched up into similar sub-batches which are fulfilled at the same time, irrespective of the time the order was placed.

As for the moment, all batch 9 orders are still on TBA(to-be-announced) status, we also do not have an ETA or an exact date for the release as we are still getting delays of our shipment for our supplied parts coming from overseas(due to the COVID restrictions) to fulfill the remaining batch 8’s. We will send a notification email to you once we have batch 9 ready for shipping soon.

(The latter is rather confusing, but seems to suggest there may be some delays due to the infamous Global Supply Chain.)

Is it possible that other people on this thread with a similar configuration to yours and shipping to the same country are also still waiting for an update?

It’s quite infuriating to see people who pre-ordered a month or more after you get there’s before you’ve heard anything. At the same time, the only promise that was made to us was that batch 9 “ships in March”, and we are still in March (though only just). I hope you here something very soon.

I think in Batch 8 we established that there were flights on Friday, Saturday and Wednesday.

It takes probably 2-3 days to get through customs etc. before it can be scheduled onto a flight - then once it’s landed, assuming no customs problems on the UK side it’ll be injected into the DPD network and delivered nextday, or in accordance with their usual schedule to wherever you live.

That was the Batch 8 experience anyway…mine must have just missed the Saturday night flight (I think it cleared customs at midnight Saturday Taiwan time), then caught the Wednesday flight and was delivered Wednesday because the timezones mean the evening flight from Taiwan is the morning arrival in the UK.

It might have changed in the last month because global logistics is a beast right now…but I think that’s the approximate experience of most in Batch 8 (barring some customs problems)
