Battery extender never worked?

I just discovered my battery is swollen today…

When the UEFI version with battery extender function was released, it wasn’t working on my laptop and I remember there was a comment saying it’s a known issue being fixed in the next version. However none of the subsequent versions worked for me. I remember there was even one time where the battery dropped below 85% due to power outage, but it still happily charged itself to 100% afterwards.

I have verified that the battery extender option was enabled and never touched. How do I get it to work after I replace the battery?

Sorry to hear of the battery puffing up. If it is truly is plugged in almost all the time just turn off the battery extender feature in the BIOS and set the charge limit to 80% and then it becomes a non-issue.

I know this does not help after the fact, though this might prevent future issues from happening again.
