[RESPONDED] Boot Failure after firmware update

My laptop has an Intel Core i5-1135G7 and was running KDE Neon with the latest Ubuntu LTS underneath. I was just adjusting power / performance settings with TLPui according to the guide on Increase and Optimize Linux Laptop Battery Life
and then I tried updating firmware via Discover, then when I tried to reboot my laptop it got most of the way there then got stuck at this message

You are in emergency mode. After logging in, type “Journalctl -xb” to view
system logs, “systemctl reboot” to reboot, “systemctl default” or “exit” to boot into default mode.

Press Enter for maintenance (or press Control-D to continue):

Ive tried a lot and havent got far. I tried resetting uefi settings and installing the BIOS 3.17 EFI Shell update from a usb stick. It went through and Im right back to that same error message.

If this has already been addressed, I havent been able to find it unfortunately. Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Update. I was able to get this output:

Hi @Alex_Jeschor welcome to the forums,

can you try booting to ubuntu live usb and update firmware from there?
let’s see if ubuntu live usb gets booted and when firmware updated, try booting on SSD again. cheers
