Hi, thanks in advance for any help.
I was in desktop mode of steamOS. I had installed the Decky plugin, and this ( GitHub - Twsts/steamos-cec-toolkit: SteamOS HDMI-CEC toolkit for DIY Steam Machines with ExternalVolume, CEC receiver volume, and input switching · GitHub ) CEC toolkit. I was using a displayport to HDMI adapter. I moved on because I was over it when I saw that there was a firmware update to the BIOS, so I started the update. Then the update froze. The dialogue box for the update said that it would install when the system restarted so I thought it would be alright to force shutdown. The system wouldn’t start again.
When I try powering on, the fan spins briefly then stops several times. Eventually the fan stays on and the status lights on the motherboard blink (lights video: IMG_9386.MOV - IMG_9386 - Frame.io ).
I’ve reset the mainboard ( Mainboard Reset - Framework Guides ). I’ve tried re-installing the OS. I’ve tried re-flashing the BIOS using the EFI Shell method from here: Framework Desktop BIOS and Driver Releases (AMD Ryzen™ AI Max 300 Series), both the 3.06 and the 3.05 versions.
I’ve reached out to tech support and I’m waiting to hear back.
The machine has been sitting unplugged for over a day now. The only other idea I have right now is to remove the RTC battery before trying the BIOS again.
