So I tried running Baldurs Gate 3 on my FW16 and noticed how the game seems to hard crash my system. Oddly enough audio was still working and even the menu seemed to work.
Testing with my steamdeck by streaming the game confirmed my suspicion: My Monitor seems to freeze as soon as baldurs gate tries to output output of the dGPU.
I also noticed how a weird rattling sound is back when my dGPU is under load.
Update: this is a wayland issue.
Second update: this is a proton specific wayland issue.

Hey, have you figured this one out yet? I have a 16 with a 7700s as well, and I also own Baldurs Gate, so if you are still trying to fix it I can see if I can reproduce it on my end. I am on Fedora 43 though, so our systems aren’t identical, but as far as wayland and proton goes it might be a useful data point. Let me know.

It’s weird that a Wayland (software) issue can cause a rattling dGPU(hardware)
No the rattling is caused under some high loads.
Baldurs Gate just seems to be one of them.
I have not gotten to the bottom of it and I also did not find the time to report this bug to proton. But you can try and replicate it if you want.
