Do 1st gen mainboards still use LM?

I just screwed up my thermal repast in the most humiliating way possible.

Protip: be very careful when detaching the fingerprint cable. Slide along the top of the cable if at all possible so you pry the latch instead of the connector.

Anyway, now I have to replace the mainboard. I wanted to ask if 1st generation mainboards still use Liquid Metal as the TIM. If they don’t, that would be a load off for me. I’m not terribly worried about replacing the bricked mainboard, since I already had to replace the bottom cover of my laptop.

Also, what should I do with the bricked 7840HS mainboard once it is out? Sell it for a heavy discount? If so, for how much?

I don’t believe so. If they started shipping mainboards with the keyboard foam pads pre-installed It’s a given they changed to PTM too.

Excellent!
