Just saw https://www.modos.tech/ which is a 13.3" screen at 3200 x 2400px @ 60hz
Is that something that anyone has tried building in to a frame.work 13?

It’s fascinating what e-ink can do these days in terms of refresh rate. I should love to hear that the FW gets an e-ink option, though the price of those units is pretty high.
Are the dimensions of that device agreeable to size of the FW 13 screen enclosure?
With an external cable, at least, running a laptop bottom case with custom hinge attachments to the panel should work
yea, I’m sorta hoping some more skilled person will be motivated enough to create such a thing
And then maybe, if they’re willing, I can pay them for files/parts to set up my own laptop in such a way
Just in case, the author did.
P.S.: The whole project (eInk hardware adapter, not just the Framework DIYing!) was done by one person and their story on Youtube a definite must watch.
@NullVoxPopuli I think you know whom you can pay for one now!
The fact that this pretty much exists, but there are no instructions to build it drives me nuts.
I wonder if that means that they are trying to polish it up and release it as a product?!
same – I joined their discord (found in their profile: Wenting (@zephray_wenting) / X ), but I don’t know what time zone they’re in, so ![]()
people could also be on vacation, so who knows when a response may occur haha
I feel like the FW12 form factor would make more sense with it being foldable and having a stylus.
However, I doubt those screens come with stylus support.
Anyway, please keep us updated.
will do!
eink with touch support on my fw13 would be stellar
Not really a fan of how they marketed the screen as some sort of return-to-monke product, but I love the idea of a quick refresh rate e-ink screen. I hope that Framework considers working with them. Honestly, though, they don’t even need to work with them, right? Can’t Modos just make their own Framework screen by using the display CAD?
been doing some looking around, and found this video:
idk how much of this is software problem for modos, but right now, (or rather, at the time of this youtuber making the video), the tradeoff for high refresh rate was that you also get a bunch of artifacting / reduced quality in motion, and way less color accuracy.
The Modos Tech discord does talk about this video some
separately, from the Modos Tech discord:
