ECC is not supposed to be different between Pro and non-Pro CPUs. [The official AMD spec site has been linked here a hundred times already.](http://community.frame.work/t/will-the-new-amd-boards-support-ecc-ram/28373/13)

Despite that Framework’s position is that it’s 100% not gonna work on the 7040 non-Pro models.

Not: we’re working with AMD to improve ECC currently not working.
Just flat out: it’s 100% not gonna be available. [link](http://community.frame.work/t/responded-amd-batch-1-guild/28693/196)

Yes, it could be a situation like with the AM5 platform where broken ECC gets fixed over time. But I don’t see any effort from Framework to add ECC support. And I am not gonna buy a Framework laptop just to test. I was wise to not preorder.
