I have just installed Ubuntu 22.04 on a Framework AMD laptop. I am attempting to plug in the HDMI cable into the HDMI card on the machine, but there is no reaction at all. The external monitor does not show up in `xrandr`. The HDMI card is detected by `lsusb`, also when I move it to a different port. Originally, I installed windows 11 on the machine, and the external monitor worked, so the HDMI card is clearly functional. Please help! ---

22.04 is ancient - please try a more current distro (fedora39 and 40 both are supported well) 24.04 also works, but even that ships with a relatively old kernel in comparison to fedora39 and 40 ---

also you can not use the left front port (with laptop open facing you) for any sort of display output.
