Fedora 41 External USB-C Display won't connect with laptop charger plugged in

On Fedora version 41, using an Arzopa model Z1FC USB-C external display. Default 65W charger from framework, USB-C cable that came with monitor. No issues on Windows. I have the Framework 13, AMD Ryzen™ 5 7640U chipset.

Default fresh install of Fedora 41.

When plugging in an external USB-C monitor that conveys hdmi video through a USB-C cable, the monitor will not be detected while the USB-C charging cable is plugged in. If I disconnect the USB-C charging cable it will immediately detect it.

Doesn’t really bother me a ton now that I’ve figured out what’s going on.

Has anyone seen this issue or figured out what’s causing it?

Which ports are you using? Make sure to use the ones on the top row (closer to the lid).

Yep, using the back/top row of USB-C ports. bottom/front ports are USB-A.

Try checking sudo dmesg or journalctl for errors.
I don’t have much linux experience, so probably won’t be of too much help.

Getting a lot of the below error:

Maybe after removing and reseating the cable it resolved it as it’s not currently giving the error. Could have something to do with a post suspend state.

maybe related to the below thread:

Seems like the Kernal version 6.9+ seems to have issues with USB-C devices but 6,8.9 and below don’t seem to have the issue possibly?

But doesn’t seem like it’s just external displays that are having issues, maybe two usb-c cords at the same time?
