Fedora crashes

I have been using my Framework desktop for about a week and a half running Fedora 42 with KDE. A few days ago I was using the system and suddenly found myself unable to open any programs or restart, forcing me to do a manual shutdown by holding the power button. About an hour ago I experienced the same issue but this time all the programs I had open closed themselves and then the window manager crashed leaving me with just a black screen and the cursor, forcing my to manually restart the computer again. Any help would be appreciated.

My Framework Desktop model is the 395 with 64 gigs of RAM and I am running Fedora 42 with KDE and kernel version 6.17.4-200

Have you done any debugging like looking at the kernel messages?

Hello, apologies for the late reply as I believed I had fixed this after I updated to Fedora 43. About an hour ago I had a similar crash. I noticed that file thumbnails in a folder had stopped loading, followed by Spotify crashing and a ‘cannot located in /bin/flatpak’ error popping up when attempting to reload it. At this point I attempted to open the terminal (which did eventually open after a 10-odd second delay) although using ‘journalctl’ (or any other command) didn’t do anything and I was forced to hold down the power button and reboot. After rebooting I checked journald and there were no errors at the point of crash during either of the three occasions where this has happened. Likewise there were no similar non-error events around the time of crash.

I am currently running Fedora 43 with kernel version 6.17.6-300
