touch still not working for me on an Intel Series 1 miniPC in a coolermaster case.
FW Support has been so/so as far as helpfulness of troubleshooting/triaging.
Is there a way to recoup power losses via disabling the touch screen when not needed? Claude is recommending xinput disable “ELAN Touchscreen” (or whatever the device is named). Is something like this viable to save juice while watching the movie, then I can re-enable it when working after?
(Or the real question; how do I flex on my wife’s Surface with touchscreen functionality, then a second time by outlasting her battery?)
Is dynamic refresh rate (DRR) under windows supported for this display? Also running a 7640U with the latest drivers. FreeSync works great and the panel is really nice, but missing DRR is a head scratcher.
Really curious about this as well. I’m quite sensitive to screen door, and the text fringing on OLED. People downplayed modern OLED impact on text, but I regretted getting one after spending a lot of money.
This is the only review I’ve seen it mentioned though. Does this screen have screen door, or not?
I’m pretty picky about screens and I haven’t noticed anything like that on mine.
That seems to be fixed on newer gens, I got an alienware and instantly returned it a while ago because of the text fringing but now I am running a newer gen lg woled with the fixed subpixel layout and that renders text fine enough for my eyes. Samsung even has an even newer panel with real stripe subpixels and no w malarkey these days.
I have the original matte display and there’s a slight speckle/grain, but definitely not as pronounced as the screen door effect. I assume they’re referring to that.
