Just curious about this because I don’t want to break anything by stressing it too much. If I run the fan at 100% duty cycle for maximum cooling perf while doing some heavy CPU-limited work, maybe 2 or 3 hours a day, is there a strong likelihood the fan might stop working within like 10 years?

Even if it did, you would be able to get another fan assembly from Framework with out much issue, I’d imagine.
That said, I remember reading somewhere that running the fan at 90% duty is better than long term 100%. Like you run at 90% and burst to 100% for short windows of time.
Don’t quote me on that, but it seems reasonable.
That said, I don’t think the cooling efficiency is as high with the FW 12. If you had a way to isolate cool air from the exhaust heat air, I think that would be the more effective way to keep things cooler there.

If you do this the fan probably won’t exceed 60%
Yeah, some other things are gonna overheat and permanently damage the motherboard on that lol
