Framework 13 11. Gen won't start when plugged in after RAM Upgrade

Hi,

I upgraded my RAM (with supported Modules). Since that my framework 13 11.Gen won’t start when plugged in. There simply no reaction to the pressing of the button. Once I plug it in it starts without any problem.

If I disconnect when its running, there is no problem running on battery.

Strangely I see no start entry in the Windows Event Log for the startup at the beginning of my workday since the RAM upgrade.
But there are entrys for restarts during the day.

I already reset my BIOS to default. That has not solved the problem.

Any suggestions?

Sorry I wasn’t clear.
The laptop wont’t start without the power supply plugged in.
If you plug in the power supply it works as expected and starts if the Power Button is pushed.

That problem occurs since I upgrades the RAM.

The missing entry in the eventlog is also missing since the upgrade.

Does it work at all when unplugged?

Is the battery cable plugged into the main board?

Hi, like I mentioned earlier: it runs fine on battery if you unplug the power supply after it’s already started. The battery is definitely connected.

Reach out to Support. You likely need to replace the RTC battery, and they will send you one for free. Make sure to follow the instructions to replace it very carefully, as the battery holder is extremely fragile, and will break if you are not very careful.
