Framework 13" 11th gen Intel. RTC battery socket missing along with + pad

I’ve got a 13” 11th gen Intel main board from the mystery box that works!

The only small problem I can see so far is that the RTC battery holder seems to have been violently removed from the board, taking the positive pad with it.

It’s not the end of the world but I’d like to be able to find an alternative location to wire up the + line from the RTC if anyone has the schematics and point me at a spot, that’d be wonderful.

thanks (hopefully) in advance.

I’m not sure if it entirely solves your problem but you can have a look at this procedure. It explains how to replace the RTC battery by powering the RTC directly from battery power (using a specific part that attaches itself to the RTC battery holder though).

Cheers for that. Sadly, it’ll not work as I’ve put it in a cooler master case.

edit: sorry, in case it wasn’t clear, since it’s in the coolermaster case, no battery.

and it occurs to me, even if I were using the RTC battery eliminator, I’d still need to get access to the + pad that should be connecting to the RTC battery holder.

Frame.work support weren’t really keen on helping me as the board came from a mysterybox. I get it, I suppose. Sigh.

Anyway I figured out a solution without them (although a part schematic would have been much easier).

This spot that’s circled is the positive for the RTC battery.

I fitted a new holder and all is well. It was a bit fiddly but not terrible.
