Use existing FW13 mainboard.
Mainboard hugs left or right side so those expansion cards work as is, make an extension cable or pcb for the other side, bonus if the front one could get split so you could have 3 cards on one side.
Use existing FW13 keyboard (or FW16 might be cooler) and touchpad in a bigger top cover with both centered.
Pull a Valve and just drop the announcement for this on a random Wednesday with no forewarning…
