@James3, I spent so much time and effort troubleshooting performance and thermal issues to finally find out that the root of my problems was charge control. You are a legend, and have my respect. Thank you for sharing this knowledge.
I have a question. I noticed that when I run ectool chargestate show with my 240W charger it gives me
chg_voltage = 17800mV
chg_current = 0mA
chg_input_current = 10256mA
batt_state_of_charge = 100%
17.8V * 10.256A is only 180W. Should I be setting input_current to 13483 if I want to make full use of the 240W charger? Using a USB-C power meter, I can see it only pulls around 200W, which doesn’t seem to line up with either of those figures. It may spike to 207W or 217W depending on circumstances I’m not familiar with, but I’ve never seen it hit 220W+ once.
Update: I tried doing this, it doesn’t seem to have worked as expected. Instead I just get more battery flipping and poor game performance. No more juice is pulled from the power adapter.
