That fan noise just sounds like some debris in the fan. Once you get the screw fixed, and expansion bay out. After a good clean of the fan it should be ok.

This has sadly not worked for me. Currently my left fan stopped working and have been doing this:

There are screw extractors at hardware stores but none of them are probably small enough to get a bite on the offending screw.
