I have some stuff on this thread I created. I even made some stuff to partially sovle this issue.

In fact the most stress-inducing is probably me putting the laptop on its sides when it’s in my bag, but I put it screen facing away, so if anything it should be bent the other way. Confirms my suspicion that the chassis isn’t quite stiff enough. Needs MOAR metal!

Yeah dont do that. If you have to, get your fingers (4 of them) as far in as possible, and use the thumb to “clip” onto it.

Well, at 2.1Kg _without_ a GPU, its not light by any means. Adding another 500g for the sake of ridigity (e,g., a bolt-on steel frame).. eeh, I dont know.
I wonder if there are any compromises made because of modularity? The popular argument says such, but so far I cant find much evidence.

Also, comparing against a Thinkpad P16, yeah Framework’s worse by a bit. However compared to a Dell inspiron 3511, Framework’s noticeably better. However the Dell is plastic, and Framework’s aluminum. Though the bottom plate on the framework seem to be frighteningly thin. But still.

Why don’t we talk more about potential ideas for modification on my thread?
