Framework 16 - Top Right Ports dead after 4.02 Bios update

After the 4.02 Bios update on my Framework 16 7040 series, the top right ports stopped working. All other ports (1-3, 6) are working fine. I rolled back the Bios to 3.07 and see the same problem. I have restarted and shut down the system several times.

Device Manager shows an error on the UCM-UCSI ACPI Device with the following Device Status:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

UCSI PPM failed to complete UCSI command in a timely manner. Please contact UCSI device or system manufacturer to investigate. (Command:PpmReset)

Anything else I should try?

try to update to 4.02 one more time but this time connect usb-c power supply on the other side of laptop

No dice on updating to 4.02 or 4.03 again from 3.07. I went ahead and reapplied the December driver pack as well. The top right 2 ports are just dead.

If issue is related just to PD controller, then flashing should help. You can try to reset it by disconnecting battery. are these 2 part does not work or just do not let you charge?

The two ports are dead. No power input or any other functionality. They both worked fine prior to the BIOS update. I just checked the BIOS details and both PD Controller versions are 0.0.00. Pretty sure they had actual values prior to the issue.

It has also been left disconnected from AC and battery for a week while I was on vacation last week.

Tried EFI flashing. I get a check mark on the BIOS and EC but nothing for PD1 and PD2.

please reach out to framework support. I’m running out of idea what is wrong. based on what I see in my FW 16, both PD controllers should be using 0.0.21

Opened a support ticket. Thanks for the suggestions @wojciech_migas. I’m kind of at a loss for what to try as well.
