well he wasn’t 100% clear thought, all i understood was that he mentioned wifi 7 card was not supported in linux.
But we will see what they say.

I was indeed intending to specify my particular wifi 7 card. Not that linux did not support wifi 7. Apologies that this somehow turned into a debate.
If you note my earlier mention in the thread I thought it was pretty clear.
Sooo… I did a thing and installed Bazzite on a separate drive. Low and behold my wifi 7 card does indeed work! In addition, can confirm that this tool works on Bazzite. Just installed and seems to be registering. Now to play around with Linux!
Edit: Only thing I can’t seem to get to work right now is the desktop icon, but that isn’t that big of a deal. I just bookmarked the page for now.
Brilliant, let me know how it goes and if you encounter any pain points.
When you go nobara instead of bazzite, there is a “web apps” tool preinstalled. There you can install framework tool as an app.
@Kemal_Ozturk just installed it on Ubuntu 25.10, everything is working as expected.
Looking forward to the limiting tdp and temperature options for which is currently displayed “coming soon…” ![]()
I think Ubuntu was the only one I tested with bootable usb apart from my main distro
. All others were either VM or not tested fully.
Seems like the installer is working pretty good all around though. Praise the sun for Bash and Rust. Thank you all for testing.
If the update also works we’re probably good and can focus on power and other cool stuff
to test update you’d first need to develop and release a new version (i.e. with power options) ![]()
Focusing on power would certainly be cool ![]()
why is this fan controller reporting wrong screen resolution? it is reporting 3840x2160 on my FW16 when it has 2560x1600?
Also is this error anything that needs fixing?
ERROR framework_control_service::routes: update check failed: error sending request for url (https://api.github.com/repos/ozturkkl/framework-control/releases/latest)
This is linux version.
The resolution reporting is weird, I may remove it. It just estimates from whatever the browser reports and if you have different scaling on your DE or browser it can be skewed.
I’ve also noticed that I have a 2nd monitor plugged in, games will think they’re supposed to render at the sum resolution of the two monitors added together. It’s very odd, so resolution reporting issues is definitely not exclusive to this application.
I haven’t experienced resolution issues from either the application (reads correctly) or from launching an actual game ( using an external monitor). This I can only attest to Windows at present because I haven’t tried a game on Linux yet.
It really isn’t a issue except for it to show wrong resolution.
OFF TOPIC: I so happen to have written a blog entry (private blog) on my experience - working from Windows managing linux systems. It is quite fun, and in the end, the implications are quite severe when thinking about it.
The Masochist’s Manual: Using a Windows Desktop to Manage Linux Systems
But - I admit I not have lots of time in the morning while waiting all security is “settled” when powering on y work computer
And, to be honest, I has given me the reason to participate in Linux trainings (payd by the company) to maintain my skill level ![]()
