I paid it in full once i got home from work; no issues; after paying in full, i got email that it could ship in the next few days… Exciting…
My batch 11 just successfully charged, hoping to have my unit in my grubby hands in the next 7 to 10 days.
Ah, I just found the email from Framework. It was in my SPAM folder ![]()
My batch 11 order is now shipped. This is not a drill! ![]()
Thanks for that insight, I’ll keep my spam folder under review too.
They haven’t even taken my money yet. I am jealous. I did get the notification that they probably will “between 4 to 21 days” from getting that email tho lol. Nothing in spam folder either.
I appreciate them giving an update and a bit of a timeline but I also wish it were a bit of a smaller window to know when to check my bank to make sure everything went smoothly. Now I am just asking myself if i made any errors.
I’m batch 13, so can’t speak from experience. But I think I recall someone somewhere saying that that window seems to be a CYA thing, and it usually ships within the first few days of it.
I’ve seen people in the other batches saying that that 4-21 day window is standard and that people are receiving it well within that. I think some are in the 1-2 week region from rough feeling, but I can’t back that up with facts just now. Check out some of the guilds and you’ll start to get an idea between emails going out, and each stage up until people start receiving them.
Yeah, that’s fair. It has only been 3 work days since I got the email. I have no reason to expect to be in the front of the batch 11 line. I am surprised to realize it was so recent. Feels like it has been over a week, probably because I am stressed at work I guess.
I’ve been charged! I got my “preparing your batch” email on Sunday, and just got the charged email. I’m pumped!
Had the same issue (French bank in my case, notorious for blocking payments outside France). Had to temporarily increase the max international payment amount on the bank’s app for it to go through.
(And then promptly transfered 1.5k from my savings account to my main account, because damn, that stings a bit
.)
Received an email titled “Your order is shipping soon #NNNNN” shortly after.
Cannot wait to retire my current machine - a huge be quiet! case that takes up a 1/3 of the space under my desk - and still get a performance boost!
Got my shipping confirmation email this morning! Should arrive on Monday ![]()
Just got my shipment email…
Got my shipment email two days ago – and was super excited.
Today: “Delivery exception - Your package may be late - local delivery restrictions”.
Too bad. And I don’t have the slightest ideas what restrictions that may be. There are no local holidays right now.
Mine is out for delivery and should be here somewhere in the next 3 hours. Love the estimate last night was Monday end of day.
After some further investigation I have found that It may be a bad idea to print it flat like I did in those photos. I did not think about it much at the time, and just wanted the texture from my print plate on the outside.
I have now printed 3 more copies trying to get the settings just right, and all 3 of them had tabs break off when I was removing supports needed to print it better. I believe this is due to layer adhesion being the primary force resisting deformation when printed in this orientation. This might not be a problem, however I think that normal use of the side panel may exceed the force they can withstand leading to a few tabs breaking off whenever you install or remove it from the rest of the computer unless handled with excessive care.
I find myself wishing Noctua had released a version of the files with the tabs that hold it in place as separate print using geometry to ensure proper alignment when attaching them after printing. You could just use a bit of super glue to attach them to the panel easily. This would allow printing the tabs in the orientation that gives them strength, and allow printing the panel in the orientation that saves time, plastic, and makes the outer surface look better without post-processing like sanding/painting.
Unfortunately I am not particularly skilled or knowledgeable about editing 3d models to make the modification myself. I am also not sure it would be allowed as IDK what license Noctua used and don’t feel like looking it up right now lol.
I am an expert so maybe better printer settings could resolve most of the weakness i have observed in the tabs, but overall I feel like a better design would make it easier for people to just print and not worry about it too much.
Another thought I have had is that the slight roughness of surfaces from FDM 3d printing may lead to faster build up of dust internally. Adding a thin layer of epoxy resin to smooth it out might be an easy way prevent it. Perhaps my naive assumptions about the physics of dust accumulation is misguided though.
Maybe I should open a thread specifically for discussing 3d printed parts for the framework desktop if it doesn’t exist already. I will likely have more data once I get mine in the mail. My computer is officially on its way now ![]()
I mentioned in the thread dedicated to the side panel that I had one of the clips break off when removing the supports too so I decided to be a mad one and print without supports and it came out surprisingly well.
It’s been a while since it was a problem for me thankfully, but I think I remember reading that warping was often down to your print plate being too hot, so unless this is the only model that has issues with warping like that I’d maybe suggest trying some scaled down prints and seeing if lowering the print bed temp helps.
Omg, my desktop order is seriously on the move. It went from Taiwan to Tennessee to Hawaii in two days, and it’s currently on the road for delivery later today. This is the rarest of exceptions. For literally the first time ever I’m impressed by Fedex.
It showed up at 10:30am today in California. Its up an running with Win server 2025, but having fun getting the AMD drivers to install. Still missing the graphics driver, have everything else even the Neural processor.
Mine (batch 11) was due Monday, but arrived yesterday. Here are my email and arrival dates:
Prep: 9/21
Payment: 9/24
Shipped: 9/25
Arrived (Northern CA, USA): 9/26
