Did seem to forget to get some expansion cards into my order , would be just leaving them empty for the time being till I order some!
Hopefully for anyone looking for info on properly installing drivers, be sure to consider just sticking with the drivers provided by framework! Iāve had issues with the drivers installed on the AMD website, but reinstalling the drivers from the framework desktop driver bundle worked great!
Probably just a new PC hiccup that AMD are still to work out and that Frameworkās team may have adjusted some things in their driver bundle pack to handle installing drivers differently than AMD?
Just a follow-up: I ended up deciding on ubuntu development edition. Cachyos destroyed itself, and various other distributions did not have native ROCM version 7.0.1 drivers. Not that this mattered cuz most of the things like pie torch want the 6.4 version, but for now Iām sticking with this. There are a lot of annoyances with Ubuntu, but once youād work through them, itās not a horrible OS.
That is awesome to hear Thomas. Iāve stuck to Fedora for now; rock solid. Missing ROCM 7 and having mixed luck with available toolboxes. Everything else Iāve tried run like a charm. Gpt-oss 120b runs like a dream and oh-so helpful. Rock on
What ones are you using? LLAMA.CPP, LMSTUDIO, and are you using vulkan (which seems to run many of them) as well as the kernel tweaks? Or did you just do the bios GIVE ME 96GB VRAM?
Hey @Thomas_Munn , I have 512mb in BIOS for I believe Linux manages resources better than I can. I am using LMStudio/Vulkan. I connect remotely, in the same network at home, with some client took. Iāve been meaning to do a writeup on that.. Gāluck
