Framework Desktop Batch 7 Guild

Yes. I did same last night. No updates since it hit memphis

The full 7 and 8 batches’ US bound portions are likely stuck there. I’m B8 and mine is there too, as are a few others over here.

Looks like mine finally got released from customs in Memphis a bit ago (1148 CST).

Fedex had some shenanigans (more then 24hrs in advance I said hold at pickup location as I would be at work, a representative even called me to confirm the change; then they still tried to deliver to my door when I wasn’t there when they failed I got the message they would try later, I called customer service they did something and by that night it was in fact waiting for me at the pickup location I had selected…) I Finally got the 128GB motherboard I had ordered.

Interestingly tracking had my package coming to TN from New Jersey which surprised me as I was expecting it to be coming from Taiwan or similar

Well done, Memphis! We knew you had it in you! <3 You’re invited to my unboxing party tomorrow (so far party of one!)

Framework Batch 7 has reached southern AL

I’ve mine since Thursday.

Windows 11 works fine and is very snappy. Unfortunately I can’t get any Linux distro to work right. They all only want to show 640x480, unless I set nomodeset.

I’m pretty upset with that; after coming from my 13 year old custom pc where I had too many proprietary usb devices for cooling etc. To run Linux; I was really looking forward for an A tier Linux experience.

Gonna try with another monitor tomorrow, this time hdmi rather than display port.

Interesting, which distro and version did you try? I was planning to run Linux on mine when it arrives.

Would really need to know what distros you have tried. I have had no issues with getting linux to run.

I have tested Bazzite, Bluefin, Aurora and also Arch and they all run fine.

I tried the officially supported fedora, cachyos, Linux mint. All latest non beta versions.

My wife has a simple hp hdmi monitor, that seems to work fine.

My own display port monitor, the first commercially available nvidia gsync monitor is just not working. Maybe I need an hdmi to dp converter if it only works on hdmi?

My old GTX970 gpus had driver issues under Linux but never monitor issues.

Have you tried that monitor on a different Linux machine? It really sounds like the monitor might be the issue here.

For sure, it works fine on other machines with Linux (either Intel or nvidia gpu).

And it works fine with windows on the framework desktop.

To me it sounds like an amd + Linux problem. It has been described on this forum before

Mine said I would not receive till Monday…. however…. I got a nice Friday surprise! The Fedex transit times from Taiwan are amazing. Fedora 42 KDE was a breeze to install. The only thing that was tricky was getting the Noctua Fan seated on the heat sink… tight tolerances.

Fedora 42 KDE came up in a strange mode on a 4K monitor, but changing the display settings worked. I am stuck at 30Hz on HDMI for some reason, but I am switching to display port anyway.

The noctua fan was indeed a tight fit!

I’ve decided that I’ll try to get some AI stuff to work on wsl instead. I don’t want to invest in a new monitor because of silly reasons

Hello Batch 7 gang,

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but my desktop is stuck in Memphis, and has been for 4 days.

Can’t wait for it to arrive! :folded_hands:
