Framework Laptop 13 AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series Driver Bundle v2.06 Release - STABLE

Yes I can’t get the SHA256 to match what is shown on this forum post at the top either. The SHA256 in this forum post starts with C17156 and when I check the download locally it starts with e3b0c4.

EDIT: the above is incorrect. I didn’t realize the download hadn’t finished. I now get a SHA256 that starts with C17156. Sorry for the confusion.

I’m pretty sure that this issue still isn’t fixed. I went straight from Framework_Laptop_13_and_16_AMD_Ryzen_7040_driver_bundle_W11_v2.05_2025_07_18 to Framework_Laptop_13_and_16_AMD_Ryzen_7040_driver_bundle_W11_v2.06_2025_09_08 (which is more like v2.06a). Everything installed cleanly, but WiFi became nearly unusable—disassociating from the AP about every minute or two. I rolled the driver back to 3.3.0.908 (which is an ancient 2023 version, but that’s what Windows had as the rollback option), and it works fine now. I’d be happy to help debug, but for the moment I’m on a work trip and need the wifi working so would need to wait until I’m home later this week to do any testing.

These constant driver/BIOS issues are . . . frustrating. I love framework, and I’m super-happy with my laptop overall, but I feel like we’re all beta testers here with these driver and firmware bundles. I knew enough to wait a while before installing the latest, but even after waiting for the inevitable “release/tons of community bug complaints/updated release” cycle I still got burned.

Driver Bundle Components description of
RZ616 Bluetooth Driver version is 1.1043.0.543 (same).
But Bluetooth driver in driver_bundle_W11_v2.06_2025_09_08.exe
is version 1043.0.532.
Is forgot put new bluetooth driver in it,
or decide put same driver in pack but forgot fallback version number?

Hi @Quin_Chou, I’ve installed this new driver package a few days ago and have been running it as my daily driver. No issues so far. Unfortunately though, I’m out of town so haven’t been able to try connecting to the WiFi router in question since installing the new driver package. I will say though, that with the previous driver package, even when not connecting to that access point that caused the immediate blue screen, the system was generally unstable and really struggled returning from hibernate or sometimes even sleep. So my best guess is this driver package is an improvement.

I will be back home on the 27th of Sept, and I’ll report back with my findings then. Thanks again.

I updated the drivers using 2.06 and the BSOD is still occurring. I was only able to access my computer by disabling the wifi/bluetooth as mentioned above.

Hi @Natasha_Lorraine_Wri – just want to ensure we’re talking about the latest v2.06 that is currently linked at the top of this page: Framework_Laptop_13_and_16_AMD_Ryzen_7040_driver_bundle_W11_v2.06_2025_09_08.exe

There’s also an older version of v2.06, Framework_Laptop_13_and_16_AMD_Ryzen_7040_driver_bundle_W11_v2.06_2025_08_13.exe. I’m guessing you know all this, but because of the two versions with the same version number, I thought it best to remove the ambiguity.

FWIW, it’s the older one that caused me issues, although I’ve still not been able to try the newer one with the WiFi AP that was giving me issues.

Thank you for the response.

It was the latest (09/08) however, the fix I found for it that seems to be working so far:

  • Boot into Safe Mode (since the boot loop prevents regular log in)
  • Disable both Bluetooth and WiFi RZ616 Adapters in Device Manager
  • Boot normally (WiFi should not try to connect and therefore allow for normal log in)
  • Go back into Device Manager
  • Right click - Update Driver
  • “Browse my computer for drivers”
  • “Let me pick from a list…”
  • Latest driver should show in list
  • “Next” to install

Both should update successfully from there and connect you to Wifi
