Framework was right about Omarchy

1password contributed to Omarchy, and is suffering the same attack Framework did. Déjà Vu.

This was proven to be a nothing burger. An upstanding company like Framework that contributed to Open Source for the benefit of all, had to endure a social media storm for them being nice.

I predict the social media storm against 1password will end up the exact same. Another waste of resource and energy.

I hope one day the Open Source community learns to be happy when other Open Source projects receive fundings and are allowed to scale up, compensate their devs and offer better products.

Having alternative to Closed Source Proprietary software is already an uphill battle without Open Source devs going at each others over nothing. And it was proved to be nothing.

Hi guys. Ugh. Ok, so while everyone has a right to their opinion, and we usually try not to lock threads… I’m the only one in today and over the weekend as it’s a US holiday. I don’t have enough eyes to watch everything in case things go south, so I’m going to temporarily lock this.

When @catastrophic is back next week, we will discuss and see if we unlock or leave it locked.
