I think a framework or framework-style webcam would be cool. I’m working on a prototype right now, just need to order the parts, assemble and write firmware.
Here’s my idea:
Esp32-S3 cam module (with charging board and lipo) + esp32-c3 (with female to male adapter cause i don’t feel like actually swapping it cause I’m not that good at soldering) using the ESP-NOW protocol to send fragmented frames and reassemble them on the other side with a companion driver or something. 3d printed shell. Basically super repairable and customizeable wireless webcam for less than $60. Cheapest one i saw on amazon (probs not repairable) was like $130 bucks. You could even try to find a different cam module that has a built in charging circuit with a JST connector if soldering is not a possibility. I have no idea about latency or quality since i haven’t built it yet. Kinda just making this post as a sounding board, seeing if anyone had any input.
