For now, I plan to just get one when I upgrade my FW16 and put it in your case design and find a good spot to set it and Ethernet it to my router.
Did you ever get anywhere further with this design? I’ve been a bit stagnant as of late, lots of changes as of late, but I think I’m in a good place to get back to this, any progress?

Sorry for the late response, I’ve been busy with other aspects of my life so this project has been on hold for a while, but I’m interested in picking it back up again. At this point it feels like the biggest challenge is just remembering exactly what I still had to do when I left off, so I may just print a rough prototype sometime in the next few days and see what the state of it is from there.

I still haven’t made much progress on it, but I’ve decided it’s worth posting publicly, so others can start experimenting with it and contributing. It’s still very much a work in progress (though if anyone has more reliable large-format 3D printer than the old Ender 5 Plus I have, I’d be interested in seeing what does and doesn’t fit well with the latest iteration, which I haven’t yet printed). The current state of the design is that the mainboard mounts are present, the battery and hinges should both fit (but not yet tested in depth), so theoretically it might be usable as a lower case, though many components won’t be secured in place as much as the official case would.
Here’s the files on Printables. The FreeCAD file has the overall shape (and a lot of reference parts from framework’s other 3d models, and a few of my earlier experiments with the design), while the STEP file is ready to print once placed flat.
