FW 16 Battery Max Wattage?

I can’t seem to find it cited anywhere. Does anyone happen to know what the max wattage is that can be pulled from the internal battery? E.g. I’m curious if the 100-140W I can get from an Anker battery is a comparable level of performance in practice.

According to this Reddit thread the FW16 batteries can charge (and presumably discharge) up to 1C. Since the battery is rated at 85Wh, 1C discharge would be 85W.

Given the necessity of the 240W charger and the draw from the expansion GPU, I have a feeling this discharge rate is probably higher than 1C, but only the Framework engineers know for sure.

Not an expert, but I’ve looked into the schematics and there’s this bit:

The boxes indicate the modes the charger is working in:

Bypass mode with battery charging - system voltage tracks adapter voltage.

NVDC - Narrow Voltage Direct Charging - system voltage tracks battery voltage.

I guess this 90W was chosen because the battery can’t supply this much, not to mention more.

That’s close enough to what I was looking for. Thanks!

Why the battery in the schematic is 55Whr

I think that’s an artifact leftover from the FW 13.
