Will do! I’ll still hang around until I can get my hands on one.
it be good to decide for finical stability. and in the future the laptops should be more readily available.
As part of my hanging around - this is your irregularly scheduled notification that Batch 8 folks have been charged and will be getting theirs soon!
I’ll be going to my nearest Microcenter later this month after a docs appointment, definitely getting my RAM and SSD there. ![]()
whens batch 10 coming? wasn’t it early to late september
halfway to late September likely.
I caculated the median between batch email notifications being about 10,5 days. Batch 8 got their emails about 3 days ago, meaning batch 9 can expect their emails to arive in about 7 days. so in between 17-20 days (23-25th of september) we can expect our emails to arrive.
That presents a bit of a problem for me, as I’ll be away from home at that time. I do have someone living with me but I’m the type of person to want to play with my toys as soon as I can. I may have to change the shipping address to my hotel, but then I may end up leaving the hotel before it gets there.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes between getting their payment email and actually receiving the laptop?
If it’s through FedEx. You could get them to hold onto the package at the store if there is a chance you’ll be away from home or hotel. Better safe than the package getting left somewhere.
Batch 9 got their emails ahead of what i thought, it seems like we can expect our email by the end of next week
I cancelled mine, unfortunately. The cracking issue got me. I don’t have time and energy to deal with that if it happens.
This will be my next laptop, tho.
I’m also still enthousiastic about the FW12. I am following the cracking thread closely and hope they fix that soon.
Coming clean: I canceled my Bubblegum Batch 10, teetered between 13 and 12 for days (for the second time), then ended up with Lavender Batch 11.
I was considering the 13 because it’s the most popular and longest-running size, so there’s more parts and information (and discovered issues) out there. Although the 12 is a new product and has its share of issues already, I expect it’s incorporating Framework’s latest design and engineering learnings from past products. The pogo pins are a great example of that.
As far as the color change, I like how the Lavender has gray as a secondary color. I hope it matches better with the rest of the input cover and aluminum expansion cards. My ideal would have been Gray with a Framework orange secondary color instead of black.
It’s time for someone to create the “FW12 Batch 11 Guild” thread. ![]()
I’ve just received my preparing charge e-mail.
(Batch 10, DIY, Sage, cheaper CPU)
Received my preparation email five minutes ago!
(^o ^)
Prep email recieved!
Trying to figure out how the payment will go since my payment methode cant be automatically charged but we will see
Received mine too, a bit sad because I hoped to have the Stylus released in the meantime so that I could add it to my basket. Guess it’s not shipping anytime soon. ![]()
I also got my prep email, tho I’m a bit confused if the date in the email for last minute changes means end of day or start of day, since it says by the 11th september which is today. I hope it’s end of day but the email is not fully clear on that (at least in german)
Same here, deadline is today. Not sure which timezone tho, but if the address at the bottom of the email is your timezone, I expect it to be synced to your local timezone (and not US or Asian timezones). ![]()
