# FW12 Stylus Issues

I recently got a Lenovo Percision Pen 2 because I heard it worked well with the framework 12 but I can’t seem to get the framework to detect the pen at all. The pen is fully charged, but neither nixos, windows, or fedora detect the pen at all. I’ve seen a few other posts relating to this but none seemed to have fixed it. I made sure the bios is set to MPP 2.0 and I also switched off of MPP and back to it, but that did not fix it either. What else should I do?

Linux distro are you using?
I’ve tested on both nixos 25.05 and fedora 42-1.1, as well as windows 11 briefly.
Which kernel are you using?
6.14.0-63.fc42.x86\_64
Which BIOS version are you using?
I can check if needed.
Which Framework Laptop 12 model are you using? (13th Gen Intel® Core™)

The Lenovo Percision Pen 2 ships in AES mode by default, it does not support USI mode. To switch the pen to MPP mode you have to hold both buttons down for 25 seconds.
I had this same issue myself, [as did others here on the forum](https://community.frame.work/t/solved-mpp-stylus-not-working-in-fedora-workstation/72327)
