Since I got my FW13 I noticed that it refuses to stay connected to a 6GHz WiFi network.

if there is a 5GHz AP on the same SSID it will switch to it in seconds after connecting to the 6GHz one, sometimes stay for a few mins. When I disable the 5GHz radio on the AP, the laptop randomly “loses” connection to the AP.

I’ve tested with APs from UniFi (U7 Pro), Asus (ZenWiFi ET12 Pro) and Sagemcom (My ISP one), the behaviour is the same on all of them, sometimes even refuses to connect to the 6GHz and stay in a loop trying to connect.

an example of dmesg showing what happnes is below:

Are you using the AMD RZ616 card? If so, I suggest replacing it with an Intel AX210 (not the 211!)

There’s not much you can do about it, except for waiting for better drivers…

Here’s a thread with more info: AMD Gang, any of you are planning to swap out the Mediatek WiFi?

I’m using the one that comes with it.

I just don’t know why this “AMD” card is still being put on new laptops if it is known that it does not work correctly.

My old laptop came with an AX200 and later I replaced with an AX210.

Yeah that’s the AMD RZ616. It’s decent, but sometimes has issues. I think AMD has agreements with OEM’s to use that card.

There could be ways to improve it, but my previous laptop had a terrible Qualcomm card soldered to the motherboard, so after that experience I always suggest to just replace inferior wifi cards. Not worth the frustration.

Edit: You could use the AX210 from your old laptop
