I pre ordered a FW13 i7 12th gen right when they were announced and have been daily driving my laptop ever since then. I carry this thing with me everywhere I go (I travel for work now so it gets moved around a lot), strap it to my bicycle, throw it in bags and just generally am not super careful with it. With that said, I recently switched from using a crossbody bag to a backpack and this additional bending force on the laptop seems to be stressing the aluminum above the expansion cards causing it to bend then crack.
I didn’t make this correlation at first and actually bought a brand new bottom cover that I installed about 3-4 weeks ago and I’m already having bending issues in the same location. I would just switch to the 12, my 13 has served me very well, but I adore my amd chip far too much to downgrade to an intel laptop again. I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue and if you’ve found a work around for it. Thanks!
