Can you explain this thought to me? Why do you prefer AMD with DDR5 for performance and future upgrades?
For me, availability of ddr5 sodimms was the driver, not performance or upgradability.

Mine is a Ryzen AI 9 with 32gb of ram and a 2tb drive I already had. I too swapped over from the intel, was batch 11 but with the ram crisis I thought I might as well swap over so I can get the same amount of ram albeit slower, with a more powerful processor for the same price of my original order. Bonus points for supposedly coming in only a month into my semester instead of 3

Just saw the batch 9 ship date was moved to September, which I had kind of expected. Can’t wait
Getting antsy for an email to pay the remaining on my preorder and for it to ship… I am hoping “Expected Sept, previously Aug” means end of August, so like now-ish 
Also decided on the Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370, for me it’s for more overall cores, as most of my workloads are CPU thread bound. (Rust development) DDR5 for the slightly cheaper and more available DIY memory options.

Yeah my estimate is shipping date is gonna be mid September unfortunately however AMD batch 5-6 got their prep emails on August 13th according to Reddit. I just want to hold my new baby

Is there any updates on the preparation emails for batch 9? Its been almost 2 weeks since batch 5-6 got their emails, but from what I’ve seen there’s been nothing yet for batch 7+; should we expect these emails to come before the end of the month or in September?
Batch 8 intel here, but looks like only AMD for Batch 6 sofar with Intel not yet emailed.
B6 is AMD only sofar Intel is noted for Sept, so maybe next few days for that, maybe B7 AMD > Intel within 4-5 days after? and then something similar to the cadence we saw with Batches 1-4 earlier in the month?
Personally I’m assming the middle of the month for Batch 8 intel.
That’s kind of concerning, I’m in batch 10 and was expecting to get mine mid to late september, but at this point it’s either you all get your around this date, and I have mine at the same time, or I get it late.
I can’t really wait too much, I need it for school, I really hope the shipping will be merged for the 2 batch

Aha! I got an intel ultra 5 – I suppose we’ll see how that works out. Fortunately only 16GB of RAM so no need to worry about downgrades for that
Looking forward to putting GNU Guix System on it for school!
It would be nice if Framework posted status updates more frequently. Because right now it’s kinda “Trust me you will get it soon.” without any updates. At least some info about what batches are currently being worked on.
Note: I don’t mind waiting (I bought it later so I will get it later). I just don’t like not knowing anything.

They posted on reddit about 4hours ago that Intel 358X batches 8-10 got batch prep emails on the 1st (now with timezones etc, no idea when this email should land (Batch 8 here) as its techcnially still the 1st some places :p)
