FW13 Pro: display corruption on latest Fedora release?

Since updating to the latest version of Fedora this week, I get brief/occasional display corruption - I cannot reproduce it when I roll back to the earlier release. Is anyone else experiencing this? the screen is garbled for about a second after booting up - but NOT during bios screens/on the rolled back OS. It also happens briefly after closing/reopening the lid, but majority of the time it fixes itself a second later.

  • OS: Fedora Linux 44 (Workstation), kernel 7.2.5-200.fc44.x86_64
  • Product: Framework Laptop 13 Pro, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Intel Core Ultra X7 358H)
  • BIOS: 03.02

I am pretty sure it has to do with the displays HDR setting. Turning HDR off gets rid of the issue.

I haven’t found a proper fix for it yet.

It appears you’re right! confirmed disabling HDR fixes the issue, which is a shame because HDR was functioning fine on the prior releases. I’ll pass this along to my support ticket, thank you!

Same for me, disabeling HDR fixed it as well.

I am running Fedora Silverblue and didn’t have the issue with the deployment from September 9th. So that bug must’ve been created with an update that rolled out within the next two days.

This screen doesn’t even support HDR, turning HDR on causes the backlight to set to max and brightness is controlled by pixel opacity.
