FW16 AI9 HX370 - Recommended Steam Settings?

I am using the latest CachyOS 6.18.8 on my new FW16 (AI9 HX370) with 64GB and am wondering what the best default settings are. I started playing “Where Winds Meet” and find that with the following settings it runs quite decent (sometimes a bit choppy, but I turned down Grapics to “Balanced”).

At the moment I have:

  • In Steam - Default Compatibility: proton-cachyos-10.0-20260101
  • In the game - Launch Options:
    • Where Wind Meets (DirectX12)
    • Selected launch options: PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_DLSS_UPGRADE=1 PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1 MANGOHUD=1 %command%

I also read that gamescope might be better but i have not noticed any major differences. I am wondering if anyone else running similar configs (without a dedicated NVIDIA) and has seen better results.

I’ve never played it myself, but it looks like a semi demanding title at first glance. Probably will be a struggle running that on the iGPU. The 1600p screen on the FW16 doesn’t help, but what might help is enabling FSR so it can render the game internally at a lower resolution then use AI up scaling to bring it back to the 1600p of the display. Probably a mixture of low and medium I’d assume are probably going to be your best bet on the rest of the settings to get decent performance out of it but I can’t say for sure as I haven’t played the game myself.
