FW16 - Docking Station Issues - 7040 series

OS: Win11 24H2 26100.7462

FW16 Ryzen™ 9 7940HS w/ AMD Radeon™ RX 7700S (1st Gen)

BIOS: 4.02 w/ current drivers from 11-12-25 pack.

Following the advice on the FW16 section of the forum, I am attempting to get a single cable dock setup to be functional. I have an additional USB-C dongle on the way to test a two cable setup, but one cable, even with the reduced wattage, would be my preferred setup. I am currently utilizing a Wavlink Dock that was linked in late 2024 discussions as the highest passthrough power (125W) while being compatible with a multiple monitor setup.

I am using the Framework 180W brick to power the dock, and when connecting the dock to the machine via Port 1 (back left when machine is open) Windows will give multiple notifications, and cycle the port so that power disconnects and then reconnects indefinitely.

The dock never ‘connects’ to the system enough to even attempt to pull up the displays, or USB devices attached to the dock. I have also tested this with nothing running to or from the the dock other than power. I have the most recent DisplayLink drivers with HotDesking installed. I have also reinstalled these drivers utilizing the DisplayLink cleaner. Looking for any tips on getting this setup functional. I know at 125W that I will experience battery drain under high utilization, but my general day-to-day utilization is rarely that high.

Self-resolved. Installed the Wavlink Realtek drivers over the FW driver bundle ones and the constant disconnect issue has been resolved. Also discovered that the 240W cable for FW is not a DP-Alt compatible cable for anyone using the WL-UMD26 dock linked above! Glad to have figured this out, saves me from spending $300-500 on the Dell TB4/TB5 docks!
