Hi everyone. Have any of you been having issues with GPU driver timeout errors on the Framework Desktop (Windows 11, 64gb RAM with 8gb allocated to GPU))? I’m not a gamer but I’m getting these errors when watching Netflix in one Edge browser window while at the same time surfing in another Edge browser window. It’s pretty non-deterministic but happens multiple times a day. I’ve updated all drivers (and Windows) and nothing seems to help. There’s A LOT of people out there using AMD GPUs with this issue, and the prevailing wisdom seems to be to disable hardware acceleration in Edge. That may work, but it seems pretty silly and is certainly not a fix. Another suggestion is to downclock the GPU but that doesn’t seem possible for the Ryzen AI Max+ chips. Anyone else run into this issue?

Assuming you’re watching Netflix in 4K with Edge on one screen and browsing the web on another, could you download Firefox and use it just for web browsing?
I’ve had issues where I’m watching YouTube or Netflix on one screen while browsing the web or using a chat interface on the other. When the browser scrolls to an ad or a video, both browser windows bog down because they’re trying to decode two video streams at the same time using the same browser.
To fix it, I installed a different browser in a separate folder and used that instead.
I’m not sure why it works, but it did for me.
Thanks, that’s exactly what I’ve decided to do! At least, until a proper solution reveals itself. Still, pretty disappointing from AMD. This desktop was a replacement for a much older computer that was sporting a 13-year-old GTX Titan GPU, and it was rock solid when being used the way I described. The GPU in the Framework desktop is much more powerful and it’s proving to be flakey. Sigh…
