I have the Framework Desktop and enabled Hibernate after 1hr. To my surprise, the computer does get shutdown completely, which is expected. But when it wakes up, it loses the entire session, so it acts like a clean shutdown and does not restore anything. Can anyone else confirm this? I think we just need to wait on more mature drivers for this desktop computer.
hi, i allways use hibenate on windows 11 without problems.

Which computer? On my work Lenovo P1 gen5 laptop Hibernate works correctly. So, wondering if it’s something not fully cooked with the AMD Ryzen drivers.
on my 128gb Framework Desktop with Windows 11… i use the driver from amd site
This gives me hope, what BIOS version are you on? Curious.
Framework laptop 13 (AMD 7640U) here, always used hibernate on Win 11 in the last 2 years, never had a problem with it.
Hey Friends, thanks for all the encouraging replies. @inteks Is right, Hibernate does work correctly. My AMD chipset drivers were in a weird state, so reinstalling the Framework bundled drivers did the trick and now the machine gets completely powered off then comes back to where I left off on resume.
I got this issue when I used the drivers from FW website, which are outdated. Now I installed the latest ones from the AMD website, and so far things work well.
It especially used to happen when the drivers crashed. So after each crash, first I had to restart or shut down the computer. If I put it in hibernate after the crash, it would just idle for a while and then shut down anyway. And the event viewer confirmed via the logs that the driver was the issue.
I was on the latest from drivers from AMD for a while and for some weird reason my chipset update failed miserably. Had to revert to the bundle, and now sleep/hibernate works correctly. Maybe if I upgrade again it will update correctly and everything will work but I don’t want to risk anything at this pt.
Something is definitely weird with these drivers. I’m on the same page as you, now that it works decently, I won’t touch it lol. It was bothering me so much in the first few weeks that I was considering returning the FW. It was almost unusable last autumn.
