# Help: Monitor issues when turning on while lid closed + plugged into dock

Hi folks,
My framework 12 laptop is great, but I have one issue. I use a docking station with 2 external monitors a lot of the time at home. If I turn on my laptop while it is closed and plugged into the docking station, it will boot thinking my internal display is “on” rather than not in use because the lid is closed. I have to open and shut my laptop every time to “fix” this issue.
Is there a setting I can check to fix this problem? Again - booting laptop while lid closed, plugged into docking station with 2 external monitors, + laptop boots with treating internal display as on/available.
Any help appreciated!
