Home row mods for Framework 16 with keyboard.frame.work

I am setting up a Framework 16 under linux although the OS is not relevant here. I have configured my layout using keyboard.frame.work, but I use home row mods for my desktop keyboards and would like to have that on the Framework as well.

Does keyboard.frame.work support tap-dance and combos as Vial does? As I understand it, keyboard.frame.work is a FW-hosted version of Vial, but I do not see any options for the relevant features.

Alternatively if it’s necessary to use Vial, are there definitions available for the FW16 keyboard for Vial?

I’ve gone ahead with building a QMK firmware to support this. In the long run, I think this is going to be the better solution.

Just for anyone else that comes across this, keyboard.frame.work is a Framework hosted copy of the Via, not Vial. They are different point-and-click GUI interfaces for QMK firmwares. Vial currently supports a lot more QMK features than Via does. Tap-dance and combos are among them. Some screenshots and information about Via can be found here, caniusevia.com/docs/whats_new. Vial screenshots and information is here, get.vial.today.

The Framework 16 keyboards could use Vial, but you’d need to flash a Vial version of the QMK firmware. A community member did make versions for the macropad, and the ANSI (american) keyboard, community.frame.work/t/keyboard-via-vial-support/34286/50.
