So my parents wants to buy me the laptop for my birthday (I know it won’t be on time for my birthday, and I honestly expect that and really don’t mind at all). But I can’t figure out how to transfer my saved build. The only way I can do that is ether give them my account, or make a new account and copy my build to them. Theres also the screenshoting method, but thats overwhelming and can get confusing. So idk if theres a different way to share the build to my folks. Can anyone help me on this?
As far as I remember, doesn’t an account have to be made in order to purchase? So they will have to have an account to purchase with anyway.
Change your password to something else temporarily, give them the login and let them make the purchase. Then change the password back to something else if there is a concern they will login again.
This does a few things in your favor, nothing is missed in translation, the order information is in an account you have access to, and if support is needed they already know what components the machine is built with.
Otherwise, open up an email and just type in each option to select as a recipie to order what you want. There are not that many options really once it is typed out to exactly what is desired. Happy Birthday.

Yup, give them your account. This way if you need warranty or want to apply for something and need to include the email the laptop is purchased from (like e.g. the PTM sheet was given out for gen 1) you won’t need to go through them.
